Communication services in Myanmar are getting better and better, especially compared with what they were a few years ago, yet there are still some problems such as slow internet connections, busy telephone networks, or power cuts.

Internet access is possible at nearly every hotel in Myanmar, and also at a growing number of cyber cafés around the country. The connection in many places may slow but it works. You will definitely need to be patient. Some webmail services (like Hotmail and Yahoo) are technically banned in Myanmar, but the employees at most hotels and cyber cafés know how to use a proxy server and can connect you to the service of your choice.

As we have no international roaming system, your mobile phone will not work in Myanmar. Otherwise, you can stay in touch with your family, friends, or business through the telephone connection at your hotel. Some restaurants and street-side phone booths can also make phone calls for you. In case you need to have a mobile phone with internet access during your trip, we can provide one for you for a small charge. Beware, however, that international calls at some hotels are prohibitely expensive; ask before you call.

Tips: We recommend that you leave our contact information (e-mail , phone number, fax) with any family, friends, or business associates who may need to contact you while you are in Myanmar. We can forward any messages we receive to you through our local offices.

For years now, we have been involved in community projects, starting with the construction of a public library available to all children of Bagan, Our activities have grown over the years and we will continue to offer our time and resources to help those most in need in our country.
