Electricity

In Myanmar, we use a 220 volt system. Many hotels provide adaptors and plugs that are flat 2-pin, round 2-pin, or 3-pin plugs. We recommend that you bring a universal adaptor. If not, you can find a suitable one easily at many supermarkets and small shops in Yangon and Mandalay. Power cuts (outages) are very frequent in Myanmar, even in major cities, but most hotels have their own generator to ensure that you have power 24 hours a day.

In some remote areas of the country like Arakan (Rakhine) and Putao, electricity will be very limited. Sometimes power cuts can last for several hours at a time, or even all day.

We recommend that you bring a torch (flashlight) with extra batteries.

Community

For years now, we have been involved in community projects, starting with the construction of a public library available to all children of Bagan, Our activities have grown over the years and we will continue to offer our time and resources to help those most in need in our country.
