Beyond 14 days

If you have more than 2 weeks to spend travelling in Myanmar, you will have a variety of thrilling choices; from seeing snow-peaked Himalayan mountains in the North of the country, to visiting the home of the Moken sea gypsies in the South. Moreover, you should expect that delightful Burmese people will await you, welcome you, accompany you, chat with you, and invite you to their home and offer you simple green tea and la phet thote (tea leaf salad with assorted beans). In this day and age, it’s hard to find such sincere and charming hospitality, but in Myanmar this is the custom

Please visit our overview of key sites to get a better idea of each region and find more ways to get lost in adventure.

Tips: If you are a first time visitor to the country, we recommend that you start with what we call the “4 Classic Sites”  (refer to our up to 2 weeks proposal) as your introduction to Myanmar (Burma). This is the best way to see the variety of memorable sights in the country, and will likely inspire you to visit the country again. If you already know us (Myanmar Mosaic and Myanmar/Burma) and want to come back, then we can talk about where you have been, what you enjoyed most, and where you want to go and what you want to see the next time you visit. And we can assure you; there are many interesting and beautiful places in Myanmar awaiting your discovery!
