Beaches

In Myanmar we have many unspoiled beaches along the western part of the country, namely Ngapali, Ngwe Saung , and Chaung Tha. Ngapali is thought to be the best beach for many reasons, and it’s the only one of the beaches that is accessible by flight. It is surrounded by small fishing and agricultural villages and we can recommend to hire a bicycle to visit theses places; avoid early afternoon periods as it get very hot even in winter.

Ngwe Saung Beach and Chaungtha Beach can both be reached by road from Yangon (about 4 to 6 hours drive), or via ferry or cruise ship from Yangon to Pathein (a small delta town).  From Pathein, it’s a short trip by road to Chaungtha or Ngwe Saung.

Chaungtha Beach is the busier of the two, especially during weekends and holidays when many locals arrive. Ngwe Saung is less crowded and has higher standard hotels.

There are now some new beaches around Yangon which are quite popular with visitors

Tips

If you plan to come during the middle of April (the annual Burmese water festival) or during the New Year holiday period (especially the last week of December and the first week of January), we recommend that you book several months in advance because almost all hotels at the beaches are fully booked during these times.

Community

For years now, we have been involved in community projects, starting with the construction of a public library available to all children of Bagan, Our activities have grown over the years and we will continue to offer our time and resources to help those most in need in our country.
